Varsity cheer celebrates six senior cheerleaders at the home basketball game versus Riverdale, Feb.10. Seniors include (Left to Right) Kyleigh Baca, Natalie Garcia, Delaney Meyers, Chloe Serimian, Tayla Tarlton and Danielle Arndt.
Natalie Garcia is a first year cheerleader who has never cheered before. She joined cheer for the experience and life lessons cheerleading has brought to her and other teammates. “Something I have learned from cheer is that it’s ok to try something new.” Garcia said. “I came into this year knowing nothing about cheer or stunting but now almost halfway through the year I am apart of the traditional and game day team! But overall cheer has taught me that you don’t have to be perfect at something in order to start it!”
Delaney Meyers is a 4 years varsity cheerleader and one of three captains for the season. She loves her teammates and coaches and is grateful to be able to cheer with her younger sibling, Presley Meyers, 30′, during her senior year. “This team is a second family to me; we’ve laughed together and cried together, but no matter what we are always supportive of one another.” Meyers said. “They are my biggest supporters and have taught me so much about leadership and friendship over my four years on the team.”
