The FC varsity football team will be traveling to take on Riverdale Christian in Riverdale in their second conference game of the season, Oct. 22.

The Eagles are coming off a bye-week where they focused on recovery and speed training for this next game in Riverdale. The team is 6-1 overall and undefeated in league play, 1-0.

Expectations are high this year after winning the 8-Man Valley Championship last season.

Matthew Tanaka, ’17, is a 4-year varsity player that has been on the team for the last three seasons. FC lost the championship game both 2013 and 2014. He also looks to play in college and continue his football career.

“I want to win this year as it is my last year I can play HS football,” Tanaka said. “We have big goals this season and I plan to do my best to accomplish them as I look to colleges for where I want to play.”
