As spring time approaches, FC leadership students begin to prepare for the upcoming annual Powder Puff event on, April 12. Leadership begins sign ups for players as well as coaches, March 27.
FC high school girls play tournament style flag football and they compete with other classmates. Fresno Christian allows freshmen through seniors to compete in a tournament style flag football competition.
In the first round, it will be seniors vs. freshman, and sophomores vs. juniors. The winners between the two first games will then move on to the final round.
Powder Puff originated in 1945 at Eastern State Teachers College in Madison, South Dakota. At this school, most men had not enrolled in the fall semester of college, which led to no males at the school. During homecoming, the school canceled all events due to lack of male participation which led to the girls deciding to play in their place.
With sign-ups being held during chapel, FC leadership senates pick t-shirt colors. Each team is allowed four coaches that are chosen by the leadership senates.
Shirts Colors :
Seniors – Red
Juniors – Army Green
Sophomores – Black
Freshman – Blue
Powder Puff will be held on the Friday before FC spring break, April 12. If you are a female high school student at FC interested in playing in the upcoming Powder Puff tournament, talk to leadership advisors Aubri Foster and Robert Foshee.
