WEEKLY CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR NOV. 16 – NOV. 20

The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from Nov. 16 – Nov. 20 2015.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.

Sports Events the Week of 11/16 – 11/20

Monday

JH boys basketball at Ahwanee, 3 p.m.

JH girls soccer vs Ahwanee at 3 p.m.

JH boys soccer at Ahwanee, 3 p.m.

Fall Sports dessert banquet at 7 p.m. in the SMC.

Wednesday

JH boys basketball vs Wawona at 3 p.m.

JH girls soccer at Wawona, 3 p.m.

JH boys soccer vs Wawona at 3 p.m.

Friday

HS Powderpuff game at 6 p.m. on the football field. Concessions will be available.

JH Second Quarter Sports

Junior high boys basketball, girls soccer and boys soccer will begin sign ups, Oct. 2. Sign up sheets will be upstairs in building 6 in front of Vickey Belmont’s office.

Fall Sports Banquet

The fall sports banquet will be held in the SMC, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. The HS girls tennis team and HS girls varsity team will be recognized for their work throughout the season. Desserts and drinks will be provided.

HS football recognized

The HS varsity football team has been chosen as Me’n’Ed’s team of the week. ABC 30 will be covering the event Nov. 16 and will air the footage during the 11 o’clock (p.m.) news.

AP biology and zoology

Students in AP bio and zoology will be traveling to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Nov. 18.

8th grade trip

The 8th grade students will visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Nov. 19.

Passion Bible Club

Every Wednesday from 12:45-1:25, Passion Bible Club will meet in Jonathan Broersma’s classroom.

Get your Cinnamon Rolls

Next Wednesday, Nov. 18, Ladies Ensemble will be selling cinnamon rolls made from scratch for $3. They will be sold during their usual music muffin time before school in front of building 6.

Vote for the best HS art

Allard’s Art is having a People’s Choice Award. They have invited customers & Facebook fans to vote for their favorite work of art. One of our Fresno Christian students, junior Sydney Belmont, has her art work displayed there. FC students and parents are encouraged to stop by and vote if they can. Voting starts Saturday, Nov. 14 and ends Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. The winner will be announced Monday, Dec. 14. They will also post the winner on their Facebook fan page.

Seniors

Senior students who are interested in going on the GCU college trip, Nov. 30, must meet with the GCU representative Colleen Ault, have a 3.0 GPA, and submit their application to the college. Ault will be on campus during lunch in Room 621 to meet with students and their parents, Nov. 16.

Seniors, just a reminder that many college applications are due in November. Please contact Michelle Warkentin if you need help filling out an application.

Powder puff game

Come join us on for the annual powder puff football game, Nov. 20, 6 p.m. Come out and support our girls as they battle for the class trophy! Concessions will be hosted by Ladies Ensemble. Menu Items include chili cheese dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, candy and other sweets.

SAT registration

Juniors and seniors: The next SAT test is scheduled for Dec. 5, the registration deadline for this test is Nov. 5. This is one of the last opportunities to take the old version of the SAT. The new format will be launched in March 2016. The next ACT test is scheduled for Dec. 12, the registration deadline for this test is Nov. 6.

If you plan to play high school softball this year please signup in front of Vickey Belmont’s office.

Boys and girls high school soccer signup sheets are in front of Vickey Belmont’s office. Please add your name to the list if you want to play this season.

Boys and girls high school basketball signup sheets are in front of Vickey Belmont’s office. Please add your name to the list if you want to play this season.

New lunch ordering option

We have a new and better school lunch ordering timeline! Place your orders by Thursday evening for the following week. Just that simple! Of course, you may order for the whole month if you wish, but the hard deadline for each week is the Thursday prior. To get to this site, go to the Fresno Christian home page, click Parents and Students and then Hot Lunch. This will take you to the external site of Moving Feast.

Sister to Sister

Tuesday, Nov. 17 will have off campus lunch for Sister to Sister. Sign out at the tables by Student Ministries Cafe.

ESL help for International Students

Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students.
