6th graders travel to Hume Lake

[/media-credit] The 6th graders will travel to Hume Lake. While there, they will learn about nature and grow closer to God.

Elementary students spend week at outdoor education school

This year, the sixth grade class is going to Hume Lake with teachers, Noah Heinz and Valerie Lopes. They will be at the camp for a week while learning for three hours a day about chemistry, hiking, and geology.

Ian Benggon, ‘22, went last year and had a great time hanging out with his friends and walking through the trails.

“Last year I had a great time at the camp walking the trails with my friends and playing all the games,” Benggon said. “At the end of the camp I also felt a lot closer to God because of how willing the counselors were to listen to you.”

Every year the sixth graders embark on the trip to Hume Lake. Noah Heinz feels that the camp is not only to learn about nature, but also the creator.

“Each year the sixth graders get to go up to Hume Lake for outdoor education for week, Heinz said. “Each year we spend about five days in class learning about three classes that are rotated every year or so. We also have a focus on getting to know the creator better.”

The class will leave Oct. 17 and will return Oct. 21. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel.
