Sgt Randall A Clinton
Sgt. Luke Boyd (L) and Staff Sgt. Marlon Green pose for a picture with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the National Football League Draft on April 26 at Radio City Music Hall.  Boyd, a 25-year-old native of Baton Rouge, and Green, a 32-year-old native of Chicago, were recognized by the NFL at the draft. Boyd who works at Marine Air Command and Control Squadron Experimental Operational Development Team, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Camp Pendleton, Calif., and Green from Combat Logistics Company 21 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., are the most valuable player picks from their respective base full contact football teams. The 2017 NFL draft gets under way on April 27th. The draft will be three days, round one on Thursday night. The draft will begin and officially open at eight p.m eastern time in Philadelphia. The draft will be held on the Rocky steps, the famous steps from the Rocky movies.

Personally, the draft is one of my favorite parts of the year. I enjoy making mock drafts and predicting who I think should be picked. As well as critiquing every team’s picks and realizing how bad some general managers are. I enjoy watching as the suspense build and seeing how it all turns out at the end of the draft. Who falls in the draft and who gets picked way higher than they should.  Every single current and former star was at one time a draft pick. Whether it was at pick 199 or one, stars can be found in the draft.

The Cleveland Browns will have the number one pick and be on the clock when the draft opens after posting a, 1-15, record last year. They have holes all over the roster and have pick number one and 12 to address many needs. I believe that they will look to trade back into the top ten with all the picks that they have in order to select their quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, after picking Myles Garrett number one overall.

Myself, as well as Tyler Vanderlinden, ’17, are two people who spend the most time looking at the NFL and considering what we think each team should do. So, we put together our own mock drafts.
