The Class of 2017 has just days to go before their high school career is behind them. Before we say goodbye, The Feather would like to highlight several seniors and their journey. This is the class of 2017 senior spotlight for Daniel Ayres

Nickname: Ayres

Favorite memory: My favorite memory in high school would be winning back to back championships on the football team.

Favorite Quote: “The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.” ― G.K. Chesterton

What would you like to put in the FC class of 2017 time capsule: The football championship trophy and pictures from throughput the year.

Where would you like to be in life when you attend the 10 year reunion: When I attend the 10 year reunion I would want to be a pretty high ranking in the U.S. Navy and just all around being successful in anything I partake in. I think I’ll save the wife and kids for the 20 year reunion.

College choice: I will attend Fresno State in the fall.

Career path: For my career path I hope to obtain a four year degree, then join the U.S Navy as an officer. I would like to serve in the Naval Special Warfare Unit of the Navy, popularly known as Navy Seals.

Someone who has most inspired or encouraged you: Someone who highly inspires me is Doc Martin, owner of Doc’s gym. He has instilled in me that you can be tough and manly while also being the sweetest guy on earth and having a constantly giving heart. He was a Seal, so I love hearing his stories.

What legacy do you think your class has left: Personally, I believe our legacy would be that we have the least amount of conflict out of any class we have known. Our class is pretty dramaless, and we all get along pretty well.

If you could do one thing over what would it be: If I could do things over again, first off I would have tried a heck of alot harder with my grades and my SAT score. There is so many opportunities I missed out on just because I didn’t take school seriously for a while. Also I wish I would have spent more time on my Naval Academy application because that is my dream school.
