Pelco by Schneider Electric hosts service to remember fallen heroes and victims

After the dust cleared, the final 9/11 death toll: 2,996. The attacks on September 11, 2001, forever changed America and the world. Over 400 first responders perished after the World Trade Center’s two towers collapsed.

A local company, Pelco by Schnieder Electric, hosts its 16th annual 9/11 Memorial remembering the lives lost during the attack. Central Valley fire, police, sheriffs, military and volunteer services joined the service remembering fellow fallen first responders at the local Clovis business.

Hundreds of people of all ages flocked to Pelco by Schneider Electric in Clovis to attend their annual 9/11 Memorial ceremony, Sept. 11. Public servants, firemen, policemen, military personnel, and civilians gathered to remember the first responders and innocent lives lost that day, 16 years ago.

To commence the 2017 ceremony, men mounted on horses and trotted past the assembly. Subsequently, various divisions of law enforcement marched in unison towards the base of the 9/11 Memorial. The ceremony then paused to play a radio dispatch clip at 8:46 a.m., the same time it was spoken 16 years earlier.

While Fresno pays tribute to the tragedy that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York is open every day to commemorate those who lost their lives as a result of the disaster. On the anniversary of 9/11, an art installation known as, The Tribute of Light, is activated to display two beaming lights that can be seen from a 60-mile radius. The symbol serves as a reminder to honor the dead and celebrate the city’s unwavering morale.
