[/media-credit] Jaden Ventura, ’18, strikes the ball for this years first annual Powder Rough game against the freshmen.

Boys from each class hit the court to play in the first annual Powder Rough tournament, Dec. 4. A special half-day schedule was created to allow for the fun and games to begin at 1:15.

This take on Powder Puff involved boys from each class playing volleyball under the guidance of girl volleyball players from their respective classes. The athlete’s practiced during lunches from Nov. 29 – Dec. 1.

Hunter Raynes, ‘21, competed on the freshman team in the Powder Rough tournament. Raynes enjoyed being one of the first people to ever participate in the FC Powder Rough tournament.

“I think It was pretty fun and we all got good playing time in,” Raynes said, “It was something different and a new experience, Also spending some time with my friends was cool. I will definitely do this next year too and anyone else who goes to this school should definitely try it. It’s something unique and I don’t think that many schools get to do something like this.”

Steven Hayes, ‘20, participated on the sophomore team. New to FC, the event allowed Hayes to meet more of his class.

“I really liked Powder Rough,” Hayes said. “Everybody was excited and we just had a really good time. Even though we got 4th place it is still kind of winning. I will 100% play next year. I think it was well planned, everyone was on task, there were no mistakes and it was fun.”

Final standings:

Juniors: 1

Seniors: 2

Freshman: 3

Sophomores: 4
