Valentines+Day+%28According+to+elementary+students%29
[/media-credit] Each year on Feb. 14, the holiday of Valentine’s Day is celebrated.

Many people celebrate Valentine’s day, a holiday of love and romance. Few people however know the history behind the holiday and its origins. The holiday originated as the pagan Roman festival of Lupercalia. A celebration which was thought to bring a blessing on the people and their land.

To celebrate the modern rendition of the holiday, each year on Feb. 14, gifts of affection and love are given to friends and loved ones. When asked campus elementary students have a very unique perspective on what Valentine’s Day is and how they show love to others around them.

For more information on the historical origins of Valentine’s Day, check out: Mystery behind the dawn of Valentine’s day.
