Ten Feather staff members, made up of juniors and seniors, travel to New York to attend the annual NSPA conference and compete, striving to win the Gold Crown Award, March 11.
The trip began when the group left FC at 1 p.m. and arrived at the SFO airport at 6;30. The departure was at 9 p.m., March 10.
Staff members arrive at the JFK airport in New York at 6:30 a.m., March 11. Due to the time change, students also lose an hour of sleep. Feather members walked to the Grand Central Station, ate at the Gotham West Market, watched the Broadway performance of Wicked, and explored the sights and scenes of Time Square.
Last year, there was a total of 27 students attending the New York trip.
Photojournalist Kaylie Clem, ’19, talks about her eagerness to go back to visit “The Big Apple”.
“My favorite moment was having some much-needed coffee after practically getting zero sleep on the airplane,” Clem said. “I am most excited about being able to experience all of the amazing New York sites with my team.”
Stay tuned on The Feather for further updates on tomorrow’s schedule of events!
