Voices fill the FC field as campus ladies work to compete at the annual Powder puff game, March 23. Grass stained jeans and muddy shoes have become a common sight during the lunch break. Coaches and players seek to take home the prestigious trophy for their class. The first game kicks off at 1 p.m. and the championship game begins at 2:30 p.m.

The biggest force on the field remains the seniors who have two consecutive titles under their belts. The team is led by coaches Roman Endicott, Tyler Villines and Jake Provost.

“Our team is looking great this year,” Endicott said. “All the girls are super motivated and ready to play. We have a really athletic class so I think we will be a tough team to beat. It is pretty important for me to win my senior year, but I think I’ll be happy no matter what because we have had so much fun with this over the past few years.”

The road to the championship appears long, muddy and wet considering the rain this week. Sophomore Annabelle Messer feels her class could have won last year, but fell short.

“I was so mad,” Messer said. “I think we can probably take home the trophy this year. Our team is looking good. We have plays and positions so it should be great.”

With the game being held on Friday, the class schedules will resemble a half-day, allowing all students to attend. Some of the boys will act like cheerleaders to motivate their fellow classmates.

The game will be officiated by CIF referees, aiming to make sure the games is fairly called.

The first game kicks off at 1 p.m. and the championship game begins at 2:30 p.m. at the FC field, March 23. Come out and support your class!
