National yearbook week

National+yearbook+week
[/media-credit] Yearbook staffer, Kayla Vanderlinden, ’20, edits photos for the yearbook, Oct. 1.

Did you know that it’s National Yearbook Week, Oct. 1- Oct. 5.?

President Ronald Reagan started the week of Oct. 4, 31 years ago, to focus on yearbook and bring light on yearbook staffers and what they accomplish through the year.

First year on staff, junior Kayla Vanderlinden, shares her favorite part about yearbook and what she looks forward to this year on the team.

“I love being in yearbook because it’s really just a fun and safe environment, especially being an all girls class,” Vanderlinden. “It’s really cool learning how to take pictures and choose layouts. I joined because I wanted to learn how to take pictures, and I thought it would be a great experience! I look forward to seeing everyone’s faces when we hand out the book at the end of the year, and seeing all my hard work payed off.”

The week serves as a time for members on yearbook to draw attention to the program and share photos and other fun things to go along with yearbook.

This year, a total of nine students make up the yearbook staff with sophomore Marin Sue as editor and teacher Andrea Donaghe as adviser.

Recently, yearbook recieved the award Program of Excellence. They were given the award for their abililty to represent the whole school in the yearbook three times.

Congratulations yearbook!
