Football advances to playoffs against Desert, Nov. 2

Fresno Christian opens the Central Section CIF Les Schwab (8-Man) Football Championship playoffs at home against No. 7 Desert High tonight, Nov. 2.

The No. 2 Eagles earned a spot in playoffs, defeating No. 5 Laton High School, 45-36, to complete league play last week, Oct. 26.

Winner of tonight’s game will continue to the semi-finals against No. 6 Trona High or No. 3 Orcutt Academy, Nov. 9. The two winners of the semi-final will continue to the championship game, Nov. 16,  against the winner of No. 1 Mission Pep. and winner of the Laton/No. 4 Riverdale Christian game.

Zeke Fuller, ‘20, has played football for nine years. He transferred from Buchanan this year and was put into a new position, defensive end, after he transferred.

Fuller shares what he looking forward to in the first round of playoffs.

“I’m excited for this game because it should be pretty easy,” Fuller said. “I’m excited to win and advance to the next round of playoffs. Hopefully we will win a ring this year.”

BREAKING: FCS students can now attend the game for FREE! The athletic department has a generous donor who wants to cover the cost of FCS students’ admission(s) to the game. Please show an FCS student ID at the gate to get in for free.

Gates open and concessions begin at 6 p.m. Entrance fees are adults–$8; Seniors (65+) and students w/ID card–$6; Children 5 and under–free. Concession prices are as follows: Hot dog–$3; Hot dog meal with chips and drinks–$5; Hamburger–$4; Hamburger meal–$6; Nachos–$3; Churros–$2; Drinks–$1; Gatorade–$2.

After the game, be sure to come out to Me N Eds at Herndon and Cedar for 5th Quarter. Bring $5 for pizza and a drink.
