Senior Christmas chapel

[/media-credit] Seniors read the story of Jesus’ birth in chapel for the 19th consecutive year, Dec. 11.

With Christmas just around the corner, seniors participate in the 19th annual reading of the Christmas story, Dec. 11. Each year, the senior class read different parts of the Bible that combine to tell the story of Jesus’ birth.

This Christmas tradition was created by vice principal Scott Falk in 2000.  Falk’s vision behind creating this opportunity for seniors to tell the Christmas story was to create a way for students to connect to the story of Jesus.

Falk shares why he created this Christmas tradition.

“I was the Bible teacher for all the seniors at the time as well as the campus pastor,” Falk said. “I was in charge of planning and overseeing chapels and it seemed right to read the Christmas story in chapel before we left for Christmas break; the seniors seemed like the right ones to read it. It allowed students to hear the account from their classmates rather than having anyone else read it during chapel.”

Don’t forget to bring a stuffed animal for the Valley Children’s Hospital stuffed animal drive on Friday, Dec. 14 . If you bring a stuffed toy you will receive a free Chick-fil-A chicken nugget meal. This lunch will also be sold for $5 if you do not bring a stuffed animal.
