Cheer captains seniors Megan Raynes and Amanda Grimmius lead the 2018-19 varsity cheer team with experience and passion during practice.

Raynes and Grimmius are friends on and off the team. They have gone to school together since kindergarten, both being lifers at Fresno Christian.

Gimmius has participated in cheerleading for 12 years while Raynes for 13 years.

Raynes said she wanted to join cheer because her big sister was apart of the Fresno Christian varsity team and her dream was to be like her friend.

“My favorite part of cheer is getting to know my team and becoming such a close family,” Raynes said. “My favorite event in cheer would have to be welcoming home veterans who visited Washington, D.C. We didn’t get the chance to do it this year but it was something I loved doing.”

Varsity cheer take part in their next competition, Jan. 26. Be sure to come out and support your Eagles!
