[/media-credit] Youth pastor Dewayne Coleman talks about how we need to forgive our enemies despite how they have hurt us, Feb. 12.

Youth pastor at The Word Community Church Dewayne Colemon speaks in chapel about his journey as a pastor and the experiences he learns along the way, Feb. 12.

Coleman shares personal stories with the student body about his first few days and weeks as a pastor and the influence it had on the rest of his life. He gives a lesson on forgiveness with a story of a girl beaten up by her brother yet she still forgave him.

His example reveals forgiveness can not be acheived without God. Coleman continues saying the hardest person to forgive is yourself  but we should accept God’s forgiveness. This way we will be able to forgive ourselves.

Ryan Brazil, ’20, likes today message because it is helping him learn to forgive.

“I liked that he told us a story about a girl that got tortured by her brother yet she still forgave him the next day,” Brazil said. “She even told other people to talk to him about God and forgiveness. I would definitely want him to come back, he was very funny and did a great job at getting his message across. I learned that you can forgive anyone even if they do horrible things to you because it is the right thing to do.”

Along with his job as a youth pastor, Coleman is a life coach for businessmen and professional athletes.
