Students and teachers get involved with the community by participating in the annual Fresno Christian Serve Day at various location, March 12.

High school students chose locations to serve at during chapel, Feb. 26. They began serving at 9 a.m. and concluded the day around 2 p.m, March 12.

Some locations participants serve at is Central California Food Bank, Legacy Apartment Cleanup, Valley Dream Center, Mary Ella Brown Community Center, ENP Warehouse and graffiti abatement.

Getting their hands dirty, student volunteers pull weeds, clean up parks, paint over graffiti and much more other beautification projects.

Teens who volunteered at the Central California Food Bank sorted 9,400 pounds of food. The Central California Food Bank is dedicated to ending hunger in Central California. This organization provides food for over 220 local agencies. A small group of men and women started the Community Food Bank in 1920, with a drive to see a change with people struggling with hunger. Volunteers sorted, packed and distributed food. If you are interested in volunteering, check out Volunteer/Central California Food Bank.

Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) is a non-profit organization that provides an outlet where students can interact with one another and meet positive role models during the weekend. It also gives volunteers a chance to build a relationship with students. ENP started out as a small sports program but soon changed to a ministry that focused on specific issues, including literacy, mentoring and community outreach. If you would like to contribute visit, Donate to Every Neighborhood Partnership.

Valley Dream Center rescues individuals with immediate physical needs and restores them and their family to health. The organization also focuses on equipping and releasing people into the workforce. If you are interested in donating online to Valley Dream Center, check out valleydreamcenter.org.
