Welcome Home Central Valley Honor Flight Veterans! Hundreds of people gather at Fresno Yosemite National Airport to welcome home war Veterans, April 11.

The CV Honor Flight sends Veterans to visit memorials such as WWII, Vietnam, Korean, Iwo Jima, and much more in Washington, D.C.

Hometown Heroes Radio host and play-by-play announcer for Fresno State sports, Paul Loeffler, founded of CV Honor Flight in 2013.

When Veterans return home, bagpipes play, leading them down the row of U.S. Navy men and women saluting them, finally meeting the people celebrating their arrival.

First beginning in October 2013, the non-profit has raised over $2 million for 16 flights. The flights has transported 706 World War II veterans, 330 Korean War veterans and 27 Vietnam War veterans to Washington D.C.

The organization has estimated about 5,000 WWII veterans in the Central Valley. Costing around $1,500 per veteran for meals, tour buses, lodging and charter aircraft, expenses are covered by donations from individuals, businesses and service clubs.
