Boys tennis wins Valley championship

[/media-credit] The tennis team has four seniors including, (left to right), John Monke, Landon Goldsborough, Reese Brown, and Alexander Rurik, May 7.

FC boys tennis wins the Valley championship! The Eagles defeat Caruthers, 5-4, in the final match of the 2019 season, winning the West Sierra Division V Valley championship, May 7.

Coming down to the very last match, the Eagles gained the win in an overtime doubles match with Logan Lewis, ’20, and Kyle Clem, ’21.

While going, 17-3, overall and 15-1 in league, the Eagles were crowned league champions. Competing against schools such as Dos Palos, Orange Cove, Fowler, Firebaugh and Coalinga, the Eagles faced off against each school twice.

The boys tennis team is coach by Rob Foshee and Daniel ‘Bulldog’ Jessing. There are a total of 14 players on the tennis team, with four seniors, two juniors, five sophomores and three freshman.

Congratulations to the boys tennis team on a great season and for being crowned Valley champions!
