More than a six year hiatuses has gone by since there was a fully functioning Boosters Club on campus dedicated to bettering the experience of the student body. It is made up of parents and community supporters that want to help Fresno Christian athletics excel.

Athletic Director Jon Penberthy explains why the Boosters Club is important to the athletic program.

The purpose of the Booster Club is to come alongside Fresno Christian Schools, and help with bigger projects, not things that are already in place but things in the future like a weight room, sport specific training, transportation, a new scores table for basketball and volleyball etc,” said Penberthy. “It’s really to help athletics as a whole to see all our teams thrive and grow.”

The Boosters Club has a lot of upcoming projects that they are looking to do to help raise money. Max Wyatt, a member of the club has plans for the future funds.

“With money raised we can help elevate the sports and athletics here at Fresno Christian.”

The Boosters Club has a Pickleball tournament scheduled on Oct. 21, 2023 that will be used as a fundraiser to benefit the Fresno Christian Athletic program. Students and community members are entering in the tournament with groups of two, hoping to win the cash prize.

The Boosters Club is working not only to help the athletes and sports teams, it also provides help for the coaches. Shawn Young, assistant cross country coach and head track and field coach explains the importance of outside help for expenses.

“Another goal is to relieve some of the fund raising pressure from off the coaches’ shoulders so they can focus on coaching their teams and supporting their athletes.”

With the Boosters Club back in remission, the Fresno Christian Athletics Program has already seen benefits from their help and hard work.

To get involved you can apply to be a member of the Boosters Club or volunteer at the upcoming pickleball tournament.
