As leaves fall and Christmas time nears, Fresno Christian High School kicks off the season of giving with the 15th annual Canned Food Drive, Dec. 1-12. Each year, FC students and staff come together to give back to the community through Pinedale Community Fellowship Church.

Pinedale Church collects canned goods, distributing them throughout the valley to the less fortunate. The goal of the drive is to provide food to those in need and relieve stress during the holiday season.
History teacher Robert Foshee is the Director of Operations, organizing all the donations on behalf of FC. Foshee has taken the lead on this project in previous years, encouraging students to display God’s love through providing for practical needs.
“The Bible tells us to take care of the poor and the widows, as well as look out for the needs of others, so this is one way we can do that,” Foshee said. “When we realize what others don’t have, we can be grateful for what we do have.”
The final day to donate is Dec. 12. Cans must be dropped off in each student’s 6th period class. At the end of the donation period, cans will be counted, and a prize will be awarded to the class with the most goods given.
