EAGLES LOSE WSL GAME, NOV. 31

The Eagles volleyball team travelled to Minarets High School, to challenge the Mustangs, Oct 31. FC was playing in their eighth West Sequoia league game after winning three games and losing four.

The Eagles started the game off flat-footed, and the Mustangs took off with a 16-point lead immediately. FC attempted to pick up the pace but it was not enough to challenge the Minarets team, with them winning the set 25-11.

FC covered some ground in the second set, but Minarets used the same tactics they established from the first game with a 12-point lead, and finished the set, 25-17.

In the third set FC picked up the slack and managed to keep up with the Mustangs, but the Mustangs sealed the game with a win, the score being
26-24. This would be the Eagles fourth loss in all league play, their second straight.

Sophomore Olivia Quebe felt that the team was careless about the match, and didn’t their usual energy and enthusiasm as past games.

“Minarets is a really hard team to beat,” Quebe said, “but I think we could’ve performed a lot better then we did. We just seemed uninterested throughout the whole game.”

The Eagles will next play the Parlier Panthers at home, Nov. 5.
