The Fresno Christian music room swirls with activity as choir students practice their love songs for the 11th annual Valentine’s Concert titled “Dreaming of You.” The concert will take place at 7 p.m. (only one show) in the People’s Church Student Ministry Center, Feb. 7.
The concert is the only opportunity that allows individuals to highlight their talent and helps fund the choir’s spring trip to compete at World Strides in Anaheim, CA. Choir director Susan Ainley encourages all of her students to push past their limits and build confidence in performing.
“What I love most about teaching is seeing the progress of students where they start and where they end,” Ainley said. “It is just always such a highlight because everybody is giving their very best effort.”
Table seating will be provided with cheesecake and coffee by reservation only. To reserve a spot, email Ainley ([email protected]) with the number of people in your party. Payments can be made to Ainley or the FC central office.
Senior Matthew Tacchino reminisces about the years he has participated in the concert. He prepares for the bittersweet ending.

“[The Valentine’s Concert] is always fun to cheer everybody on, and see everybody do an amazing job,” Tacchino said. “When I watched all the seniors singing in the concert, I wondered if that would someday be me, and it will be me [this year].”
For the first time this event will include special appearances and performances by three alumni, including Ellie Gonzalez, ‘23, and the Tuck brothers (David, ‘22, Noah, ‘24, Caleb, ‘26, and Elijah, ‘28). Fresno Christian students, faculty and families enjoy the event every single year, evidenced by a packed-out auditorium every year. Even though nerves can surge backstage for performers, the audience’s engagement in cheering builds up their confidence and desire to display their talents and hard work.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Email reservations in advance, tickets sell out quickly.

I am so excited for this! The Valentine’s concert is the best event FC puts on all year, in my opinion. It will be so fun to see all of the Tuck brothers on stage together! Great and informative article, Maya <3
