The Fresno Christian choir, led by music director Susan Ainley, hosted the 11th annual Valentine’s Concert, ‘Dreaming of You.’ The concert took place at the People’s Church Student Ministry Center and was filled with faculty, family and friends.
This concert takes place once a year, giving choir students a chance to showcase their musical abilities. Students dedicated many hours to practicing at school and at home to perfect their pieces. Proceeds from the concert help the choir travel and perform at World Strides in Anaheim, CA.
Senior Bella Barrett has performed in the Valentine’s concert since freshman year and plans to pursue a music degree in college with hopes of earning a music scholarship.
“I had fun with all my friends backstage for the last time,” Barrett said. “My most memorable moment was singing with K’Lanna because it meant more than just singing a song. It was us celebrating the impact we’ve had on each other’s lives.”
This year’s show consisted of 13 solos, two duets and one quartet:
- Matthew Tacchino, ‘26, “Sway”
- Reese Cannon, ‘27, “Only Hope”
- Madilyn Fraire, ‘28, “Pretty Little Baby”
- Caleb Tuck, ‘26, and Bella Barrett, ‘26, “You have my Heart”
- Elijah Tuck, ‘28, “Something Stupid”
- Gianna Gonzales, ‘27, “Crazy”

Senior Olivia Saldivar performed in the Valentine’s Concert for the first time this year and plans to continue singing and performing in the band after high school.
“I felt really excited and a bit nervous to perform in front of everyone,” Saldivar said. “My favorite part was just hyping each other up backstage; we were all dancing and having the best time.”
Throughout the event, songs ranged from cheerful love songs to heartfelt musical pieces and the night was closed by K’Lanna McArn performing “My Days.”
