In the final minutes of her final game on the Fresno Christian basketball court, fans stood to their feet as senior Sarah Guglielmana etched her name in the record books, hitting 1000 career points during senior night against Riverdale, Feb. 10.
Guglielmana’s success and monumental moment this season only add to an already historic high school career. During girls’ volleyball season, Guglielmana surpassed not only 1,000 career kills but also 1,000 career digs and assists, denoting four unprecedented accomplishments unlike any other athlete Fresno Christian has yet achieved.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in high school basketball, reflecting consistency and strength, with Guglielmana totaling four years at the varsity level.
“It felt amazing to see my hard work over the past 4 years pay off, giving one hundred percent in every game and practice was hard, but seeing where it got me brought me joy,” Guglielmana said. “I had to learn how discipline, patience, effort, and cooperation played a huge role in the sport of basketball.”
Scoring 1000 total points is no small feat, and it does not come from just a few hot streaks. It requires steady play across all seasons of play, whether it is finishing through contact in the post or nailing an off-the-dribble pull-up shot and sinking free throws.
Alumna and FC girls basketball Head Coach Tori Tarlton played with Guglielmana as teammates during her freshman year and reflects on what it means to now have coached her.

“Sarah earning the success of 1000 career points shows how she is a fierce female athlete,” Tarlton said. “She is strong, confident, and gives it her all in every game. I am very proud of Sarah and all that she has accomplished.”
Guglielmana’s basketball career comes to an end, as she sets her eyes on another successful track and field season.
