BRIEF: Volleyball returns for first pre-season game

[/media-credit] Volleyball’s first league game will be held, Tuesday Oct. 7th at Caruthers High School, JV will play at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

The FC junior varsity (JV) and varsity girls volleyball will compete in their first home pre-season game against Laton High School, Aug. 19. The JV game will being at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m. in the FC gym.

The team will participate in the Caruthers Raisin Harvest tournament tournament, Aug. 27-30. Volleyball’s first league game will be held, Tuesday Oct. 7th at Caruthers High School, JV will play at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

Im excited for this game because it’s the first game of my last season. This season I want to at least get to play offs, and have fun and bond with my teammates.–Ivette Ibarra, ’15

First year varsity coach at FC, Jonathan Penberthy expects the girls to play aggressively and with their utter most effort. His goal is that they would strive to increase their individual skill sets with every game.

“My expectations for the girls for this game are to play hard and to the best of their abilities,” Penberthy said. “My hopes for the girls this season are to improve their skill set every game.”

Ivette Ibarra, ’15, looks forward to her final season and hopes to bond with her teammates.

“Im excited for this game because it’s the first game of my last season,” Ibarra said. “This season I want to at least get to play offs, and have fun and bond with my teammates.”

    I think its pretty awesome that my sister, Elora, was on TV. I mean not a lot of people get to be on TV.
