With five minutes until curtain call, Greg Tharpe, ?04, gives his final words of encouragement to his actors and actresses during dress rehearsal. The third period drama class is preparing to perform a number of skits at the First Reformed Presbyterian Church. The performance will be held on Aug. 27 at 7 P.M. Tharpe will organize and direct the show.

During the summer, Tharpe toured nine states on the East Coast with New Line Drama Company. For two months, hundreds of skits were taught and performed in churches and camps.

“I am very excited that I get to teach drama all the things that I learned,” Tharpe said. “I think it will be a good experience for me and for the class.”

This years’ theme for drama will be “An ounce of behavior is worth a pound of words.”

“I want my students this year to say less and act more,” Tom McEntee, drama coach, said. “If one of my students are going to be an astronaut, I do not want them to say they are one; I want them to show that they are an astronaut.”
