Student Leadership: Serve day approaches

kindness
[/media-credit] This week is National Kindness Week, Feb. 9-14. The purpose of the week is to show genuine kindness.
Student leadership is taking a more active role in promoting student involvement throughout this school year. Please return to read about how FC students are actively learning, serving and promoting teen events on and off campus in this weekly article series.

This week is National Kindness Week, Feb. 9-14. The purpose of the week is to show genuine kindness. There is a kindness poster in the hallway for students to commit to how they are going to be kind during the week by writing out a challenge for themselves.

At the end of this week, Feb. 13, Valentine’s Eve, leadership has encouraged students to wear red or pink in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Following up the theme of kindness, next week, Feb. 19, is the school wide serve day. The student body will be signing up for different locations as serve day approaches. Last year many students participated in events such as going to graffiti clean up or to clean up a city park.

Juliana Rosik, ’16, is the head of the Community Food bank group in leadership class. Any interested members of the student body are encouraged to come to the Community Food bank on Sat. Feb. 21 at 7:45 a.m.

If a student will not be able to serve at the event, they must turn a permission slip into the office. Students can pick up the waiver in the high school office in building 6.

Nigh of the Stars (NOTS) is creeping up on the student body and students are encouraged to start asking dates and buying tickets for the event.

Leadership students are preparing to fulfill the role of director activities in the classroom. More information is to come, discussing improvement and feedback.

I’m so happy for little Fresno Christian to go to the playoffs in football. I have been hoping for their success. Can’t wait to support our team.
