[/media-credit] The school wide serve event was a huge success and the school has decided to serve the Community Food Bank again.

Student leadership is taking a more active role in promoting student involvement throughout this school year. Please return to read about how FC students are actively learning, serving and promoting teen events on and off campus in this weekly article series.

Last year, the campus had an all-day serve day, students went to different locations like the food bank, Neighborhood Thrift and covered graffiti all over Fresno. The event was a huge success and the school has decided to serve the Community Food Bank again.

The goal of Serve Day is simply to serve and show people random acts of kindness.

The school hopes to improve the lives of the community and show grace. Students will be going to clean-up graffiti, play and read to youths, cleaning up stores and serving meals.

Juliana Rosik, ’16, the school food bank director, is inviting all high school students to serve at the Community Food Bank, Feb. 21. Contact Rosik for any questions. The service project will meet at 7:45 a.m. Do not forget your waivers.

The Special Days group, ran by Olivia Quebe, ’16, and Hannah Nale, ’17, are putting on a Treasure hunt at lunch, Feb. 23. There will be pots of chocolate gold spread around the school campus. Whoever finds a pot of gold will have to bring it to the office and collect their prize.

The winter sports banquet is going on in the student ministry center (SMC) main at 7 p.m., Feb. 23.

Next week, basketball intramural’s will be played in the FC gym, Feb. 26 and 27. Every team must have at least one girl and are allowed only one varsity player. Championships is on Feb. 27 at lunch. More information to come.
