Feature Art No. 9 by Keegan Bloom, ’18, Feb. 2.
Title: 3-D Art
Description: Bloom’s art depicts a type of star design he found on the internet. He traced an outline of the star to cut out for the base. To make the art piece pop-out, Bloom cut smaller pieces of paper and glued to the base, placing a small block inbetween each paper.
Bloom enjoys learning different types of art and focusing on each assignment at a time until completed.
“We are currently learning how to transfer an image using a grid-like system to draw the image on a separate sheet of paper,” Bloom said. “It wasn’t too hard to do and I think it turned out great. It is a type of star that I found online and thought it would be a cool idea for the project.”
“The teacher made the class draw out our base object, to create multiple layers that get smaller and smaller until you have at least 10 smaller layers of that object,” Bloom continued. “Then you use these little square things that are sticky on both sides and you use them to stack layers on top of each other creating a 3D-like object. The teacher made the class use magazines for the project.”
