Fresno Christian Student Leadership closes off the school year with a Summer themed rally. During homeroom, students filled the FCS gym to join in on a series of challenges to build school spirit within their classes.
Jake Wyatt, ‘24 and Tayla Tarlton, ‘26 were this year’s hosts, keeping students hyped up throughout the rally. Each grade was judged on performance, participation, spirit and hype. The louder their student section is the more points they can earn despite their standing in the games.
Starting off the rally was a game of musical chairs, which consisted of four teachers and six students from each grade. Whittling down to two finalists, seniors secured the win as Colby Poplin, ‘24, was the first seated in the last chair, earning their class major points.
To win more points, leadership brings out the next game, ‘Tug of War.’ Four students from each grade competed to see who could get the other team to their side.
After the juniors took the win in the second game, Zoe Blanchfield, ‘25, shares her experience as she participated in the game.
“I loved doing tug of war at the rally!” Blanchfield said, “I liked working together with the people in our class and coming out with the win! It was so fun and I would 100% do it again!”
With one more chance to get their team up to 1st place, 11 students from each grade participated in ‘Crowd Surfing.’ In this game, one student lays atop an inflatable mattress while the students below, passed them through with their hands in a relay.
With only a .5 point lead between the first place and the second place team, the juniors took the win for this year’s spring rally. What better way to end a Summer themed rally than with popsicles to mark the end of the school year.
