COLUMN: Senior college prep dates and deadlines

New campus academic advisor Evangelina Tello continues the occasional column, College Corner, for The Feather Online. She shares college prep advice and offers college counseling in her office. Tello can be reached via email. Her office hours are M/T/Th 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Wed/Fri., 8 a.m. – noon. She encourages students to set up appointments during these hours but has an open door policy as well. Read her first article, College Corner: Take responsibility for early applications.

The 2018-2019 school year has kicked off to a great start here at FCS! Last October, I started my new position as Fresno Christian’s academic advisor and I was thrilled to be returning this school year to experience a first day of school. And now seniors need to pay attention to upcoming dates and deadlines.

Students and parents can find the new location of my office downstairs in the junior high and high school office. Along with a new location, I am now serving as the high school California Scholarship Federation (CSF) coordinator where I will be working with the student members and hosting lunch meetings.

I have high hopes that our seniors will finish their academic careers strong while taking advantage of the resources and services provided to them here at FCS. I look forward to work with our new senior class and assisting them with their post high school plans. My goal was to start the year strong and meet with every single senior before September.

During these one on one meetings we discussed their graduation track, college applications, SAT/ACT, highlighted dates and deadlines they need to be aware of. Below I have provided in four sections information for seniors and their parents to refer to for the months of September and October.
