With the new year, the campus worship team continues to introduce new songs in the weekly Thursday worship chapel. This week, the team chooses to introduce the song, ‘Be Still‘, by Hillsong Worship to students, Jan. 10.
The song speaks of trust and faithfulness, referencing Psalm 46:10, which says, “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The song aims to be a reminder to listeners, a reminder to put their trust in God and not themselves.
Sophomore, Andrew Moore, leads the song in chapel, Moore appreciates the message behind it. “The song Be Still, to me, isn’t just another worship song.” Moore said. “The message behind the song is super important to me! In the world we live in now it feels like it’s impossible to slow down, let alone stop at all. But the song reminds us that sometimes we need to be still, and focus on what’s important. Sometimes in order to step into God’s wonder and creation we have to come to a stop, we have to be still, and know that the Lord is in control.”
With the introduction of ‘Be Still’ to students, the song will be added to the normal rotation of songs in chapel.
