Taking on the Wonderful College Preparatory Academy Wolves, the Fresno Christian boys and girls varsity basketball teams honor their oldest team members for senior night, Feb. 5.
For the girls, seniors, Hannah Estes, Angelica Escalera, Alina Davila, Julia Fikse, Macie Thompson and Ashley Zamarripa are recognized for their accomplishments within the basketball team in their last year of high school. Meeting their families on the court, the girls are congratulated by the crowd and given flowers.
At the end of the game, the lady Eagles take the victory of the Wolves, 45-37. With 18 of the points coming from Thompson, and 7 from Zamarripa.
For the boys, seniors, Michel Huangh, Landon Goldsborough, Griffin Schmidt, Brandon Brogan and Suky Cheema are honored pre game.
In the game, the Eagles defeat the Wolves, 71-53. Brogan leads the scoring among the seniors with a total of 10 points, 9 of those coming from beyond the three point line. Cheema scores 6, Goldsborough scores 5 and Schmidt scores 4.
The following night, Feb. 6, both teams defeat the Laton Mustangs, securing the title of the East Sierra League Champions for both the boys and the girls. Stay tuned for updates on the playoff schedules of the teams.
