Fresno Christian junior Blake Bay has been recently named the 2025-26 NCSAA Boys Varsity Cross Country All-American Athlete of the year. This honor solidifies Bay as one of the most competitive high school distance runners in the country. He took 16th place at the Brooks Cross Country Championships in San Diego on Dec. 14, showcasing his talent on the course in addition to his impressive performance at the Central Section Championships.
“Being named NCSAA Athlete of the Year is a huge honor, and I’m grateful for the support of my coaches and family,” Bay said. “I’m motivated by the grace and love of Christ, and I try to keep my focus on Him no matter the outcome.”
NCSAA is the National Christian School Athletic Association, founded in 1985 and dedicated to Christ-centered excellence in athletics. From Soccer and Volleyball to Cross Country, the foundation believes athletes should glorify God in all they do and strives to guide athletes to create godly ambitions.

Balancing his academics with running, Bay has proven to be a disciplined student athlete. His determination and dedication have not only won him local and national recognition, but he has also inspired his teammates and coaches from the FC Cross Country Team.
Coach Shawn Young has worked closely with Bay through his high school running career, cultivating positivity and perseverance to augment Bay’s talent and success.
“As Blake has gained running and racing experience, he has gained confidence and wants to race the best in the nation because he knows that level of competition will make him better,” Young said. “Blake has the dedication and focus that you just don’t see many high school athletes having. He consistently does all the little things, prioritizing sleep, fueling with good nutrition, and is intentional about his recovery.”
Teammates see Bay’s focus and commitment to running and are inspired to do likewise.
“He is an outstanding example for them, leading not only with his actions, but also his voice, always attributing his running success and achievements to Christ,” Young said.
