FC Serve Day 2020

Approximately 200 Fresno Christian high school students and faculty set out into their community for the annual FC Serve Day, Feb. 27. The day was planned in partnership with Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) Fresno.

A total of five buses sent students to various locations including West Fresno for graffiti clean up, Medical Ministries International, Cross City church, Storyland, Discovery Center, Reading Heart, and the Southeast Park. Students spent the day helping with yard work, painting over graffitied walls, sorting medical supplies, and helping out a church.

Medical Ministries International is a Christ centered organization that brings aid to thousands all over the world as people are in need of medical supplies. FC students traveled to one of their warehouses where they sorted and cleaned medical supplies. There goal is to deliver hope to people in need through the deployment of medical supplies and equipment, medical teams, and construction teams.

Over 25,000 books were sorted at FCS through the nonprofit book donation program Reading Heart. These books will be distributed to King Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and Washington Colony, where all students will receive a free book. This organization is dedicated to serving kids in hospitals and children who don’t have access to books.

The following video highlights FC highschool students serving during Serve Day 2020.

At Storyland, Discovery Center and Southeast Park, students engaged in outdoor landscaping work. Not afraid to get dirty, students picked weeds, shoveled dirt, and raked leaves.

Each year, Fresno Christian takes a day off of school and ventures out into the community in hopes to give back. If you would like to serve, head to everyneighborhood.org to learn more about different opportunities. Additionally, most of the middle school and many of the FC elementary students also participated in varied volunteer activities.
