Peppermint-chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

Peppermint-chocolate+Mug+Cake+Recipe
[/media-credit] Peppermint chocolate mug cake makes the perfect holiday treat.

This holiday season, feeling a little extra ambitious, I decided to try out a new Christmas recipe. After combing through several variants, I stumbled across the peppermint-chocolate mug cake recipe. Typically, cakes are not my favorite desert, but I’ve always enjoyed a quick and easy mug cake recipe. I’ve tried out dozens of mug cake recipes but this one is by far my favorite. It has perfect texture that melts in your mouth, with a beautiful chocolate and peppermint flavor. For a beginner baker, the best part about this recipe is how easy it is to make, ready to eat in about five minutes. After eating this decadent desert, I realized I couldn’t just keep this to myself and decided to share it with you.

You will need-

  1. 1/4 cup of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  2. 3 tbsp of low fat or fat free milk
  3. 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  4. 3 tbsp of all purpose flour
  5. 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  6. 2 peppermint candies or 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract

How to make-

  1. Finely crush your peppermint candies, so they will be easy to melt. In a microwave-safe mug, combine your chocolate, milk, and crushed peppermint or peppermint extract. Microwave for about 40 seconds. Remove and stir with a small whisk or fork until chocolate is completely melted and the candies are almost completely melted.
  2. Add in your flour, baking powder, and oil. Stir with your whisk or fork until batter is completely smooth and combined. Cook in microwave for about one minute. You will be able to tell its done when the top of the cake loos done and dry to touch. Make sure to let it cool completely before eating.
