Homecoming court voted in by the class of 2021 during their senior trip at Hume Lake made up for the lost traditions earlier in the year. Nominees for king candidates were: Kyle Clem, Bryson Grahm, Ryan Stark, Andrew Moore and Landon Bell.

Nominees for queen candidates were: Brynlee Schmidt, Mackenzie Beckworth, Hannah Villines, Natalie Arndt and Samantha Portale.

The crowning took place after a series of pageant events including a twister competition, karaoke, Q&A session and beauty makeover.

Congratulations to this year’s homecoming king, Bryson Graham, and queen, Natalie Arndt.

This year’s homecoming looked a bit different than the traditional experience for the class of 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of sports during fall, everything was postponed with hopes of fulfillment in spring. The senior trip itself was an alternative option for the class.

Spending a couple of days together at Hume Lake Christian Camps, Teachers Kori James and Kimberly Bell planned a trip combining missed events from senior year including homecoming and senior retreat.

Graduating her last son in the class of 2021, Bell was determined to offer a renewed senior experience.

“These students were worth every obstacle that came our way in planning this trip,” Bell said. “Witnessing the bonding and memories they made together was exactly what we hoped for. This trip ended their year on a high note.”

Graduation for the class of 2021 will be held May 27 in the Peoples Church auditorium at 7 p.m. as an invitation-only event.
